An Omani drilling-equipment operator continued to find particles in fuel-system samples after installing new filters. Several diesel injectors and high-pressure components had already been inspected, but contamination reappeared during subsequent maintenance.
The operator expanded the investigation beyond the machine itself. Fuel-transfer tanks, hoses, nozzles, storage procedures, and filter-handling methods were reviewed.
This industry scenario demonstrates why clean fuel at the bulk tank does not guarantee clean fuel at the high-pressure pump inlet.
Fuel moved through several stages:

Samples were collected from the filter inlet and the clean-side outlet. Clean sampling tools were used to avoid introducing particles during collection.

Sediment was found at the bottom of one mobile service tank. The tank had been refilled repeatedly without a planned cleaning interval.
Damaged breathers and loose caps allowed dust to enter during field operation.

Omani drilling operators should manage fuel cleanliness from storage to injection, including mobile tanks, hoses, nozzles, filter housings, and sampling tools.
A new filter can protect the system only when it is correctly specified, installed in a clean housing, and supplied with fuel from a controlled transfer route.
