OE Number Verification

The original injector number, superseded number, and engine parts catalog should be checked. For discontinued numbers, buyers should verify the official replacement and applicable engine serial-number range.

Engine Identification

The engine model, serial number, emissions stage, power rating, and control-system version should be recorded.

Code Format Verification

Technicians should determine whether coding is required, the number of characters, the correct programming tool, and the cylinder assignment order.

Hardware Interface Inspection

The electrical connector, high-pressure inlet, return connection, installation length, and sealing design should be compared.

A Coding Fault May Have Another Cause

If the code is correct but the machine still operates abnormally, technicians should inspect:

  • Injector circuit;
  • Connector terminals;
  • Wiring resistance;
  • ECU driver;
  • Rail pressure;
  • Injector return flow;
  • Fuel delivery;
  • Cylinder compression;
  • Installation sealing.

An incorrectly installed sealing washer or carbon in the injector bore can also cause poor combustion and abnormal correction data.

Bulk Buyers Should Validate the Coding Process

Before placing a bulk replacement diesel injector order, repair shops and distributors can use a sample to verify:

  • OE number and application;
  • Code readability;
  • Diagnostic tool programming;
  • ECU code acceptance;
  • Idle and load operation;
  • Bench-test results;
  • Label and packaging traceability.

Compatibility Checks Reduce Repeat Disassembly
