French construction-equipment rental fleets increasingly manage machines in which the fuel system, engine control software and exhaust after-treatment system operate as one coordinated emissions package.
When an injector is replaced and after-treatment warnings continue, the problem may not be a simple defective-part issue. The replacement could be mechanically correct while its calibration code, software application or fuel-delivery characteristics do not match the Stage V engine configuration.
The original warning may also be caused by sensors, EGR control, DPF loading or SCR operation rather than the injector itself.

Replacing an injector without recording this data can remove useful evidence about the original fault.
The replacement injector should be verified against the complete OE number, engine serial number, rated power and emissions configuration.
One injector family may contain versions for different software calibrations or emissions stages. Identical connectors and mounting dimensions do not prove that the hydraulic specification is the same.
Some common-rail injectors require an individual calibration code. The workshop must identify the correct code rather than a serial number or batch reference.
The code should be entered into the correct cylinder position using diagnostic equipment compatible with the engine software.
A replacement part may be associated with updated ECU software, revised coding procedures or specific service instructions.

Repeated coding attempts should not be used to compensate for an incorrect injector application.
DPF differential pressure and exhaust-temperature signals should be reviewed under known operating conditions. A blocked filter, biased sensor or failed regeneration does not automatically confirm injector over-fuelling.
For systems using SCR, upstream and downstream NOx data, dosing operation and exhaust temperature must be evaluated.
Incorrect EGR flow or charge-air leakage can affect combustion and emissions even when the injector is functioning normally.

French rental fleets should treat persistent emissions warnings after injector replacement as a coordinated diagnostic problem.
Injector identity, calibration, engine software, DPF condition, SCR data, EGR operation and sensor plausibility must be checked together.
The purpose is not to add unnecessary steps. It is to prevent a mechanically compatible injector from being installed into an electronically or emissions-incompatible application while also ensuring that unrelated after-treatment faults are not misclassified as injector failures.
