Electrical injector faults are not always permanent.
Moisture or corrosion inside a connector can create changing resistance and contact quality depending on temperature, vibration and humidity.
Connector Condition Is Part of the Circuit
A simplified electrical path is:
ECU Driver → Harness → Connector Terminals → Injector Actuator
A scan tool may identify an injector circuit problem, but the fault can exist anywhere along this path.
Why Continuity Testing Can Pass
A multimeter uses a relatively low test current.
A marginal terminal may show continuity when stationary but behave differently:
- under vibration;
- when heated;
- when current demand increases;
- when moisture changes terminal resistance.
Inspect Terminal Quality
Relevant checks include:
- corrosion;
- water entry;
- terminal tension;
- seal condition;
- pin damage;
- harness strain.
Do Not Replace the Injector Before Checking the Connection
An electrically healthy injector cannot operate reliably through an unstable connector.
