The Case-Drain Line Was Checked Independently

Inspection followed the drain path through:

  • hose;
  • fittings;

  • return connection;
  • and downstream pressure conditions.

A restriction in the case-drain path prevented internal leakage oil from returning with sufficiently low backpressure.

The shaft seal itself had become a visible symptom, but it was not necessarily the initiating fault.

Why Replacing the Shaft Seal Alone Could Fail Again

A new seal installed into a motor housing that remains over-pressurized can again be exposed to abnormal load.
