A rail-pressure sensor can be electrically healthy and still produce an abnormal signal if the shared reference-voltage circuit supplying it is being pulled down elsewhere.

while the same reference may also feed other sensors, depending on engine design.
If another sensor or branch develops a short:
reference voltage falls → multiple sensor outputs shift.
Why Rail Pressure Can Become the Suspect
If the rail-pressure reading is obviously abnormal, technicians may focus on:

But the rail sensor may simply be receiving incorrect reference voltage.

Why Replacing the Rail Sensor May Not Help
