Starter Speed Was Present but Crankshaft Torque Was Missing

A light commercial diesel vehicle used for frequent delivery stops in Estonia developed an intermittent hot-restart problem.

Cold starts were generally normal.

After the engine had been operated, stopped briefly and restarted, the starter motor could sometimes be heard spinning quickly without turning the engine at the expected speed.

Frequent stop-start service repeatedly heats and cycles the starter system.
